Scuba diving
Before a person decides to take up scuba diving, he should be prepared to put the time into it that it requires to learn it. Some of the things a person learning scuba diving should do include:
• Find a good instructor – A reputable scuba instructor can make the difference between a fun learning environment and a difficult learning environment. It is always best to find an instructor who has adequate experience. A good instructor can often be found online or by word of mouth from friends or acquaintances who have taken a scuba diving class.
• Start out in the pool – Any person who wants to learn scuba diving needs to start out slow. Just as a stuntman starts out popping a wheelie before he attempts to jump over buses, a diver needs to start in a pool before he dives into the ocean.
• Progress – After the diver feels comfortable diving in a pool, he can move on to a dive in open water. These dives are typically done with instructors, but the diver does have a little more freedom and space to explore.
• Don’t hesitate to ask – The more questions a person can ask, the better off they will be when they are on their own in the water. Would-be divers should take advantage of the fact they have an instructor while they have one, and should always be certain about what kinds of things they should and should not do in the water when scuba diving.
