Scuba mask
A person who wants to use a scuba mask often should remember
how important it is to keep the mask in good condition. A couple of
ways that a mask can stay in good shape include:
• Wash it off – After each dive, a diver should be sure
to rinse off the scuba mask with fresh water. It is important to use
fresh water because salt water is ineffective. The whole purpose of
washing the mask off is to ensure that salt does not stay on the mask
and prove to be a corrosive influence.
• Check the lens – The lens of the scuba mask should not
only be clean, but it also needs to be clear. By using a mask that is
not clear, a person runs the risk of not being able to see as well as
he needs to. If the lens of a mask has a couple of scratches, there
is probably no need to replace the mask. But if there are a lot of scratches
or a couple of large scuffs, it is important to make sure that the diver
can see properly when diving, so the scuba mask likely will need to
be replaced.
